Wrexham AFC are heading to Australia and New Zealand for the first time - and their only Sydney appearance will be at Allianz Stadium on Tuesday 15 July.

The Welsh club, which has captured global attention through the Emmy-winning Welcome to Wrexham series, will take on Sydney FC in a midweek fixture under lights at Allianz Stadium.

The Sydney match is part of the Red Dragons’ ‘Wrexham Down Under’ pre-season tour, which also includes games against Melbourne Victory at Marvel Stadium (11 July) and Wellington Phoenix at Sky Stadium in New Zealand (19 July).

The tour follows Wrexham’s dramatic rise through the English football tiers, capped off by promotion to the Championship this season - the club’s third promotion in as many years under manager Phil Parkinson. Since being acquired by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 2021, Wrexham have become one of the most widely followed clubs outside the top flight, with Australia ranking as the third-largest international audience for the docuseries.

This will be Sydney FC’s first meeting with Wrexham, offering a rare opportunity to see the world’s third-oldest professional football club in action on Australian soil. The match at Allianz Stadium is expected to draw a strong crowd and deliver a memorable night of football in Sydney.

Tickets go on sale from 9.00am Friday 16 May via Ticketek, with prices starting at $39 for children and $59 for adults.

Match kick-off time: 7.30pm AEST, Tuesday 15 July
