The NSW Government is today announcing the lifting of the archaic SCG precinct concert cap from an average of 4 events a year to 20 events a year – putting an end to these restrictions that have stifled the NSW economy and its cultural lifeblood.&nbsp;
 
These additional sixteen concerts are estimated to inject up to $120 million a year into the NSW visitor economy, which will mean billions of dollars secured for NSW over the lifetime of the stadium.&nbsp;
 
These restrictions were introduced over 20 years ago following a Rolling Stones concert at the SCG. But in a modern and global city like Sydney, these restrictions are no longer fit for purpose.&nbsp;
 
The concert cap changes have been subject to a rigorous eight-month community and stakeholder engagement process.&nbsp;
 
Of the 20 major events per year, 2 will be permitted to operate as 10-hour festivals, such as Wave Aid, between the hours of 10am and 11pm.&nbsp;
 
The new conditions have been imposed on the existing development approvals for the new stadium to manage and mitigate the impacts of noise, traffic and parking raised in consultation.&nbsp;
 
No other changes will be made to the normal 11pm concert curfew, sporting events, maximum venue capacity, or transport arrangements.&nbsp;
 
Since opening in 2022, Allianz Stadium, has hosted Bruno Mars, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Robbie Williams concerts. American singer-songwriter Pink is also scheduled to perform two shows in February.&nbsp; 
 
Sydney’s stadium network caters to artists of all sizes, which includes Sydney’s major event venue, Accor Stadium, which has a capacity up to 100,000 for concerts. 
 
The venue will host four Taylor Swift concerts in February, as well as major sporting events including the Bledisloe Cup and State of Origin.&nbsp; 
 
NSW Premier Chris Minns said: “NSW is well and truly open for business. This is a huge win for the NSW economy, and it’s great for live music.&nbsp; 
 
“For too long NSW has missed out on world class acts because of an archaic restriction that killed fun in our city and hurt the economy.&nbsp; 
 
“Sydney is Australia’s only global city and now it will finally be able to host more global acts on the world stage.”&nbsp; 
 
Minister for Music and the Night-time Economy, Minister for Jobs and Tourism John Graham said: “After successive governments have tied up our visitor and night-time economy in onerous red tape, we are taking off the shackles, and making the most of our incredible venues.”&nbsp;

“This year alone, we have Pink, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and The Kid Laroi performing in our stadiums in Sydney, following on from Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney, Elton John, KISS and Harry Styles shows last year.”&nbsp; 
 
Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said: “We’ve listened to the feedback and lifted these restrictions on concert capacity, so that we can get the most from this venue, while including conditions on the approval that takes into account local issues like noise, traffic, parking and social impacts.&nbsp; 
 
“We will continue to work with Venues NSW to get the best outcome for concert goers and the local community.”&nbsp;

NSW Government Announces the Lifting of the SCG Precinct Concert Cap

Sporting Club of Sydney members are in for a massive start to next year’s rugby league season with blockbuster match-ups, the traditional ANZAC Day Cup match and a host of NRLW action confirmed for Allianz Stadium, following the release of the NRL and NRLW fixtures.&nbsp;
Allianz Stadium will host 11 NRL matches and three NRLW matches next season with the Rabbitohs, Panthers and Melbourne Storm all heading to the venue in the first seven rounds.&nbsp;
The ANZAC Day Cup will see the Dragons host the Roosters in what is always one of the biggest sporting events of the year.&nbsp;&nbsp;

American Express and Venues NSW Announce New Partnership

Football fans will be treated to a jam-packed four-day schedule in January 2024 with the A-League’s first ever Unite Round.
Unite Round is a coming together of all 13 A-Leagues men’s and women’s clubs, as well as
grassroots competitors from under-8 to under-18 age groups.
The Unite Round is being introduced for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, as the Australian
Professional League’s partnership with Destination NSW enters its second year.
As part of the updated partnership, the hosting rights for the finals series from season 2023-24 will revert to previous arrangements whereby the final is hosted by the highest placed qualifier from the Semi Finals.
During Unite Round, grassroots tournaments for junior boys and girls will take place at venues across Sydney from Thursday 11 January, while double-header A-Leagues matches will be hosted at Allianz Stadium, CommBank Stadium and Leichhardt Oval between Friday 12 and Sunday 14 January.
There will be a festival of football surrounding the A-Leagues fixtures with activations, a fan festival and other events taking place across four days.
The Unite Round will provide more opportunity for all players and fans to be part of an inclusive football celebration in Sydney and strong economic and community benefits for the people of NSW.
Tickets for A-Leagues Unite Round will be on sale from Monday 6 November.

A-Leagues Unite Round heading to Sydney

Football Australia has today announced that Allianz Stadium in Sydney will host the Australia Cup Final 2023 between Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar FC on Saturday, 7 October (7.45pm AEDT).
With Football Australia aiming for a new record attendance at an Australia Cup Final – currently standing at 18,751 (Melbourne City FC vs Sydney FC, 2016 Final) – fan and family-friendly tickets prices have been set for this Final.
Tickets start at $12 Junior, $15 Concession, $25 Adult, and $65 Family and will go on Football Account and Club Pre-Sales at 2.00pm AEST on Thursday, 28 September, with General Public On-Sale at 2.00pm AEST on Friday, 29 September via Ticketek.
The host city and match day venue for the Australia Cup Final is at the discretion of Football Australia, where venue suitability and availability are key factors in any determination.
With Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium unavailable on the weekend of October 7 and October 8, Ballymore Stadium under renovation with a reduced capacity, and Kayo Stadium’s (Redcliffe, QLD) capacity at 10,000, Football Australia confirmed Allianz Stadium as the most suitable venue to host this year’s Final.
The Australia Cup is the only competition in Australian sport where amateur clubs get the opportunity to compete against the sport’s premier clubs, in their shared vision of being crowned Cup Winners. In 2023, a record number of 775 clubs competed in this year’s competition, with two remaining: Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar FC.
This will be Sydney FC’s fourth Australia Cup (formerly FFA Cup) Final appearance (2016, 2017, 2018, 2023) and Brisbane Roar FC’s first time qualifying for the big dance.
The Australia Cup Final 2023 will be broadcast live and free on 10, 10 Bold in Perth, and 10 Play, thanks to Football Australia’s broadcast partner, Network 10.

Allianz Stadium to host Australia Cup Final 2023 

NSW Waratahs has confirmed its 2024 fixtures.
The 2024 draw sees the 12 teams playing 14 matches during the regular season, consisting of 11 round robin matches and three additional rivalry clashes, followed by an eight-team finals series.
NSW Waratahs CEO Paul Doorn said, “2024 marks 10 years since the NSW Waratahs won the Super Rugby Championship and just us significant, marks 150 years of NSW Rugby.
“The 2024 season draw see’s the Waratahs play five Friday night and two Saturday night matches at the world-class Allianz Stadium.

Super Rugby Pacific 2024 Draw Revealed

Following the Matildas’ heart stopping win over France in the quarter-final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023TM, Allianz Stadium will become a screening site to ensure more football fans can cheer on the team in the tournament semi-final.
The Matildas will face England in their&nbsp;&nbsp;knockout clash on Wednesday 16 August at Stadium Australia, kicking off at 8:00pm, the scene of some of the greatest moments in Australian sporting history.
Ticketing and other information will be confirmed tomorrow.&nbsp;
Wednesday’s match will be the first time the Australian football team has progressed to the&nbsp;&nbsp;semi-final of a FIFA Women’s World CupTM, with NSW proudly backing the Matildas as they continue on their&nbsp;record-breaking run.&nbsp;

Rugby Australia and The British &amp; Irish Lions have today revealed the full fixture list for one of the largest and most prestigious Rugby events in the world, the 2025 Lions Tour.
The Tour will see the Lions play nine matches in Australia, with three Tests against the Wallabies, and six Tour games around the country – including a match against the NSW Waratahs at Allianz Stadium on Saturday July 5, 2025.

Allianz Stadium is ready to welcome the biggest names in women's world football when the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup kicks off in July.
Sydney's newest stadium will host six matches at the tournament, including a Round of 16 match on August 6. 
 
Football giants France are drawn to face Jamaica in the first SFS match on July 23, Colombia and Korea Republic will square-off on July 25. 
 
European heavyweights will collide when England and Denmark clash on July 28, while Germany and Colombia will gear up for what promises to be an all-important Group H match-up on July 30. 
 
France will round out the last of the Group matches against Panama, on August 2.

Allianz Stadium will host the all-conquering Sydney FC Women in their Semi-Final showdown with Western United FC at an A-Leagues double-header, it has been confirmed.
The Sky Blues won the right to host the Grand Final qualifier following the side's 4-0, premiership-clinching defeat of the Newcastle Jets at the weekend.
The Sydney-Western United match will be played after the club's Men side hosts Perth Glory on Sunday, April 16.

Allianz Stadium to host A-League Women Semi-Final

The South Sydney Rabbitohs and Souths Cares will celebrate Indigenous sporting excellence across Australia when it plays the Parramatta Eels at Allianz Stadium in round 12 of the 2023 NRL Premiership, which will be the game’s Indigenous Round.
In a week-long celebration of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander sporting excellence, the Rabbitohs, in conjunction with Souths Cares, the NRL, Venues NSW, the Nine Network, and game day partner Zoom Video Communications, Inc., are aiming to produce a series of events to rival any previous celebrations of Indigenous culture in sport in Australia by celebrating everything that our Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities contribute to sport in our great country.
The Rabbitohs will play their first home game at Sydney’s newest stadium, Allianz Stadium, on Friday 19 May at 8pm, round 12 of the NRL season. This is the South Sydney-based venue where the Rabbitohs had two of their biggest victories in season 2022, those being two Finals Series wins over the Roosters and Sharks in successive weeks in September.
Game day will see some of Australia’s leading musical artists performing pre-game who will be announced closer to the date of the match. It will also highlight grassroots musical and dance performances, a Welcome to Country, and a special performance of ‘Glory, Glory to South Sydney’ played on the didgeridoo.
Some of Australia’s highest-achieving Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander sportspeople from across Australia’s biggest sports will also be highlighted and celebrated at Allianz Stadium for their achievements which is being supported by Rabbitohs Platinum Partner and match day sponsor, Zoom.
South Sydney will wear the Rabbitohs 2023 Indigenous Jersey in this match, once again designed by Uncle Joe Walker. A proud Wahlabul man, Uncle Joe is designing the Rabbitohs Indigenous jersey for the sixth time in 2023.

NRL Indigenous Round Fixture Confirmed for Allianz Stadium

Venues NSW is pleased to announce The Lottery Office (<a href="https://www.lotteryoffice.com.au/">https://www.lotteryoffice.com.au/</a>) has come on board as a new commercial partner of Allianz Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground. 
 
The three-year partnership will see The Lottery Office become the official Lottery Partner of Sydney’s famous sporting and entertainment precinct.&nbsp; 
 
Parent company Global Players Network Pty Ltd, an Australian-owned and operated company for over 20 years, launched The Lottery Office in 2018 to allow Australians the chance to win from all major international lottery jackpots, including the USA Mega Lotto, USA Power Lotto, European Millions, UK Lotto, plus much more.&nbsp;

Fans who have already purchased tickets to Australia’s inaugural match will be notified by email that the match has been relocated and their tickets will remain valid at Stadium Australia. &nbsp;

For a period of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Roosters will return to the Sydney Cricket Ground for matches against the Storm (Round 20) and Sea Eagles (Round 23) –&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sydneycricketground.com.au/articles/farewell_to_a_fortress__roosters_bid_scg_goodbye">a ground they turned into a fortress</a> throughout the period of the Allianz Stadium redevelopment*.
A second-time meeting with the Dolphins (Round 24), and a showdown with the Wests Tigers (Round 26) rounds out the last of the Roosters’ regular season matches at Allianz Stadium.

 Sydney Derby To Be 'Hottest In History'

The NSW Waratahs’ fixtures for the 2023 Harvey Norman Super Rugby Pacific season have been revealed.
The NSW Waratahs open their tenure at the brand-new Allianz Stadium against the Brumbies.
The 2023 draw will see all 12 teams play 14 matches during the regular season, 11 round-robin fixtures, and three additional rivalry matches, which will see each team play a home and away series against three other teams.
After spending the past four seasons playing out of multiple venues across Sydney and its greater metropolitan area, the Waratahs will return home to Allianz Stadium for all home matches in 2023.
Darren Coleman’s team is set to open their campaign at home in Round 1 with a blockbuster clash against traditional rivals the Brumbies on Friday, February 24.
The Waratahs’ home fixtures then include the Chiefs (Round 5), Force (Round 8), Highlanders (Round 10), Rebels (Round 12), Fijian Drua (Round 13), before rounding out the season against Moana Pasifika (Round 15).

Robbie Williams Heading To Allianz Stadium In 2023

The Sydney Roosters will host the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the first week of the 2022 NRL finals at Allianz Stadium, with the club's NRLW side facing the Newcastle Knights in what will be a blockbusting double-header on Sunday, September 11.
The Roosters will meet the Rabbitohs for the second consecutive week following the 26-16 victory in Round 25. The do-or-die, elimination final will kick-off at 4:05pm.
Beforehand, the Roosters NRLW side will host the Newcastle Knights in a top-of-the-table clash at 1:10pm, with the side looking to maintain their perfect record to start 2022 in Round 4 following their victory over St George Illawarra last Friday night.
Tickets will be on sale for all matches to the competing clubs’ ticketed members at 10am on Monday (September 5), while tickets for the competing clubs’ non-ticketed members and NRL Account Holders will be on sale at 1pm on Monday.
Finals Series tickets will be on sale to General Public at 10am on Tuesday (September 6).

More than 50,000 people will flock to the brand-new Allianz Stadium for the very first time today with a free community day and night, before the biggest names in sport and entertainment kick off a spectacular opening series of events.
Premier Dominic Perrottet declared the state-of-the-art Stadium open with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque before the first fans made their way through the turnstiles.
“Today is a once-in-a-generation occasion as we open Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, a game changer for our state and another major infrastructure project delivered by our government,” Mr Perrottet&nbsp;said.
“This&nbsp;world-class stadium is&nbsp;befitting of the nation’s only truly global city&nbsp;and will ensure NSW continues to attract the biggest stars in sport, music and entertainment.”
The Community Open Day will feature live entertainment, stadium tours and a sports zone with players from the Sydney Roosters, NSW Waratahs and Sydney FC, while the night event will include an official opening ceremony with large-scale projections, light shows and live performances from Guy Sebastian and Baker Boy.
Minister for Sport Alister Henskens said the Stadium will be the envy of sporting fans across the country, giving rugby league, football and rugby fans a phenomenal viewing experience.
“On Friday, 2&nbsp;September our female athletes will create Australian sporting history,&nbsp;with the NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership marking the first official sporting event at&nbsp;the new stadium between the Sydney Rooster and St George Illawarra Dragons, before the Sydney Roosters face their oldest and fiercest rivalry, the South Sydney&nbsp;Rabbitohs,” Mr Henskens said.

Allianz Stadium Officially Open

Five legendary Australians are recognised in Allianz Stadium’s Ring of Champions, a modern celebration of sporting greats around the concourse of the state-of-the-art venue.
Minister for Sport Alister Henskens today announced that Arthur Beetson, Ron Coote, Betty Cuthbert, Nick Shehadie and Johnny Warren are the first five honourees at Allianz Stadium, which will officially open on Sunday.&nbsp;
Mr Henskens was joined by Mr Coote and friends and family of the other honourees at Allianz Stadium on Thursday to confirm their inclusion.
“Betty Cuthbert’s feat of winning Olympic Gold in the 100m, 200m and 400m is still yet to be matched and she set or equalled three world records at the old Sydney Sports Ground during her career,” Mr Henskens said.
“Nick Shehadie’s contribution to our city across sport, politics, media and much more is unmatched and Johnny Warren taught us all to love the beautiful game.
“In rugby league, it is fitting that we honour Arthur Beetson and Ron Coote, two great players and two great Australians, who won grand finals and represented their clubs, NSW and Australia at Moore Park.”
Venues NSW chairman Tony Shepherd AO said the first five members of the Ring of Champions would be joined by more greats in the future.
“The Ring of Champions is a modern solution for a modern stadium, so it will reflect the changing nature of the sports that draw people to our venues, including the rise of elite women’s team sport that is driving so much interest and excitement,” Mr Shepherd said.&nbsp;
“I thank the SCG Heritage Trust for the important foundational and educational work they completed on this task and look forward to the next phase of celebrating our sporting greats.”
Several other areas or rooms have also been named in the new stadium, including the new plaza areas around the venue.
These include Damun Place, Busby’s Corner, the Sheridan Stairs, the Ray Warren Media Centre and suites named in honour of JW Turner and Jack Brabham.&nbsp;
Turner was a former chairman of the Sports Ground Trust and hugely significant in its history, while Brabham’s motorsport career began at the Sports Ground and took him all the way to the F1 world title.
Allianz Stadium will be officially opened this Sunday 28 August with a free community day and night delivered in partnership between Venues NSW, Destination NSW and leading Sydney events company Rizer.&nbsp;
The free community event kicks off a bumper opening schedule of events, starting with NRLW (Roosters v Dragons) and NRL (Roosters v Rabbitohs) on September 2, Wallabies v Springboks on September 3 and Matildas v Canada on September 6.

Sporting Stars Honoured at Allianz Stadium

The National Rugby League (NRL) has announced that the NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership will now launch the new Allianz Stadium on Friday, September 2.
The Sydney Roosters-St George Illawarra Dragons NRLW fixture – the 2021 Grand Final rematch - will be played as a double-header with the Sydney Roosters-South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL Round 25 match, marking the first official sporting events at the new stadium.

The Round 3 NRLW match was originally scheduled for Leichhardt Oval, however continued discussions with partners have allowed the change of venue.

“Our remarkable female athletes will create Australian sporting history in the state-of-the-art new stadium.
“I’d like to thank our broadcast partners, the Sydney Roosters and Venues NSW for helping us make this is a reality.
“History will be made on Friday, September 2. The first ever match on Allianz Stadium - an NRLW fixture - followed by the clash between the two foundation clubs in the final round of the regular season.”

Merivale’s Iconic Brands to Deliver Allianz Stadium Food and Beverage Offering

With the final piece of turf now laid and the last seats in place, Minister for Tourism and Sport, Stuart Ayres has today announced the completion of the new Allianz Stadium, with tickets now available for a free community Open Day and Night on Sunday, 28 August headlined by Australian music superstars Guy Sebastian and Baker Boy.&nbsp;
Opening Day, running from 11am-3pm, will see the doors to the stadium open to the community to explore the venue’s many new features for the first time, including lacing up their shoes in the change rooms on a behind-the-scenes tour, meeting their favourite Sydney Roosters, Sydney FC and NSW Waratahs players, and be among the first to have a kick on the new world-class playing surface.&nbsp;
Opening Night will kick off from 5pm,&nbsp;with dancers, light shows, large-scale projections and pyrotechnics, headlined by live performances from Australian music icons Guy Sebastian and Baker Boy.
Minister Ayres said the completion of the stadium was a testament to the NSW Government’s commitment to deliver state-changing infrastructure.
“Having a world-class stadium in the heart of a thriving sport, entertainment and hospitality precinct on the cusp of Sydney’s CBD will help ensure our state continues to host the best sporting and entertainment talent in the world,” Mr Ayres said.&nbsp;
“This state-of-the-art venue has the best community and player facilities in the country and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it during our unmissable Open Day and Night.
“I know it’s been a long time coming for fans, but I know as soon as they step inside, they’ll see the wait was worth it.&nbsp;
Fans won’t just enjoy being closer to the action they’ll also enjoy a 360-degree open concourse inside and outside the venue, steep seating angles providing&nbsp;an unforgettable event-day experience, better accessibility and&nbsp;the very best in-stadium Merivale food and beverage offering.&nbsp;
Minister Ayres was joined at the stadium unveiling by Indigenous artist Tony Albert, who was the artistic force behind the new stadium’s seat design.&nbsp;
Mr Albert said through his artwork, that illustrates the concept&nbsp;Two Worlds Colliding: Water &amp; Land,&nbsp;he embedded the idea of Country on top of the stadium creating an element of friendly yet fierce competition.&nbsp;
“Each end of the stadium is separated and distinguished by two different designs symbolising land and water – the land through geometric lines taken from nature, and the bubble of concentric circles for water,” Mr Albert said.
The seat design is one of six artworks that make up the new stadium’s public art program of art installations and recreational facilities that feature in the precinct, which can be seen during the community open day.
“We are inviting people to come out and enjoy a very special day and night. It will be the first opportunity for fans to experience first-hand how close to the action they will be and be entertained by Guy Sebastian and Baker Boy.”

Following the free community event the stadium will host three blockbuster events across five days when it opens on September 2, with the first match to be the NRL’s famous rivalry between the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs. The Wallabies will then take on the reigning Rugby World Cup winners South Africa on Saturday, September 3 and to cap it all off the Commonwealth Bank Matildas will host Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medal winners Canada on Tuesday, September 6 in an international friendly.

Allianz Stadium Now Complete, Community Open Day & Night Details Announced 

Tony Albert is an award-winning artist who was born in Townsville. Albert’s family is from Cardwell, Queensland and he is a descendant of the Girramay, Yidinji and Kuku-Yalanji peoples. Albert is the first Indigenous Trustee for the Art Gallery of New South Wales and is also chair of the AGNSW Indigenous Advisory Group. In 2021, Albert was commissioned to design the seating pattern of the new Allianz Stadium. His design tells the story of ‘Two Worlds Colliding – Water and Land’. The design was chosen for the story it tells about place and country, providing a nod to the contest of two competing teams while offering broad appeal as a strong contemporary work. Each end of the stadium is separated and distinguished by two different designs – the land through geometric diamond designs taken from nature, and the bubble of concentric circles for water.

Two Worlds Colliding - Allianz Stadium Seating Design Unveiled by Artist Tony Albert 

Sydney FC will open the season with a blockbuster homecoming opening round clash at Allianz Stadium against Big Blue rivals Melbourne Victory, and their new signing from Manchester United, Nani.
And there’s not long to wait until the highly-anticipated return of ex-Sky Blue Milos Ninkovic for an explosive Sydney Derby clash on Saturday 12 November.
Steve Corica’s men will face both Victory and the Wanderers twice at home during the Isuzu-UTE A-League 2022-23 campaign, with the first two match-ups coming before the World Cup break in mid-November.
Head Coach Steve Corica says the huge opening clashes have whetted the appetite for the season.
“The season opener against Victory will be the first chance for our Members to see our new stadium on a matchday, and the atmosphere will be electric,” he said.
“To follow that up with a Sydney Derby right before the World Cup means it’s going to be an incredible time for football fans.
“It’s an excellent draw with two home games against two of our biggest rivals, and the fixtures all well-spaced to give us every opportunity to perform.
“It’s a draw to excite all football fans and and Members will get the best seats in the stadium to watch the games from.”
In total Sydney FC have 13 home matches while 13 will be away from home.

The new 42,500 seat Allianz Stadium has been designed and built for the fans, with a 360-degree open concourse inside and outside the venue, steep seating angles providing unrivalled views of the field, the very best Merivale food and beverage offering, world-class player facilities and new community spaces to explore, just some of its many features.
Sydney Roosters CEO Joe Kelly said: “The honour of hosting the inaugural event to be held at our home, the new Allianz Stadium, is one of which we are most proud. We have a deep connection to the precinct dating back to our foundation in 1908. “Football enthusiasts, Matildas fans and event goers alike are in for a real treat on September 6, as our ever-popular Commonwealth Bank Matildas host defending Olympic champions and world number six, Canada in what will be ideal preparation ahead of next year’s tournament.&nbsp;
Exact details of the community open day, including how to secure entry to the free ticketed event, will be announced over the coming weeks, while ticket details to the Roosters v Rabbitohs, Wallabies v South Africa and Commonwealth Bank Matildas v Canada can be found via the respective club/code websites.&nbsp;
The opening series of events aren’t the only fixtures to look forward to, with Allianz Stadium to host Sydney FC’s first A-League game of the 2022-23 season, the Sydney Super Cup featuring Scottish champions, Celtic, and international superstar Justin Bieber performing live.

Construction of the new Allianz Stadium has now reached the 90 per cent mark following the installation of the final roof fabric, with the Stadium ready to host its first event in September.
Premier Dominic Perrottet said once fully complete, the new Allianz Stadium will ensure NSW continues to attract world class sporting and entertainment events.&nbsp;
“The new Allianz Stadium will be a fitting home for some of Australia’s biggest sporting and entertainment experiences, and we can’t wait to open it to the public in time for the first event in September,” Mr Perrottet said.&nbsp;
“With the roof now finished, you can truly get a sense of what fans, athletes and performers will experience when this stadium opens the gates.&nbsp;
“The new SFS will not only help attract the world’s most exciting events to Sydney but also deliver a great boost to local tourism and create additional jobs for NSW.”&nbsp;
More than 4000 individual pieces of steel make up the new stadium roof, with a combined weight of 2000 tonnes of steel used in the fabrication.&nbsp;
Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade, Tourism and Sport and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said about 1,100 jobs have been supported on site during the build, with thousands more offsite and many more to come once the stadium is open.&nbsp;
“Along with creating jobs we are also making sure we support local businesses throughout this project. The steel from the now completed roof has been fabricated in Western Sydney by S&amp;L Steel, the same company that built the roof of the original stadium in 1988,” Mr Ayres said.
“This stadium will give NRL, A-League and rugby fans a phenomenal viewing experience, closer to the action in a rectangular stadium that will become the envy of sporting fans across the country.”&nbsp;
Minister for Infrastructure, Cities, and Active Transport Rob Stokes said the stadium façade was also complete and that work would continue on the stadium fit out and stadium surrounds.&nbsp;
“This stadium will not only provide a stunning arena for sports and entertainment, but also create a fantastic new precinct nestled between some of Sydney’s finest public spaces,” Mr Stokes said.&nbsp;
“Unlike the old gated SFS, the new design of the stadium fosters an open atmosphere and welcoming public open space that is no longer limited to just game day activity.”&nbsp;

Allianz Stadium Close To Completion

The new Sydney Football Stadium is beginning to take shape with the installation of the first structural steel and precast concrete seating plats.

The plats span between structural steel raking beams (rakers) and the seats will be attached to each plat. The plats come in 15 different varieties and their weights vary from two tonnes to 23 tonnes, with the lengths ranging from one and a half metres to more than 14 metres.
Andrew Redmayne and Remy Seimsen of Sydney FC, Victor Radley of the Sydney Roosters, Grace Hamilton of the Wallaroos and Alex Newsome from the NSW Waratahs, joined the Acting Minister for Sport Geoff Lee on site to mark the milestone and see the progress at their home ground.&nbsp;

Sports Stars Mark Another SFS Milestone

The Matildas will kick off their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign at the brand new Sydney Football Stadium.
The Matildas will kick off their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign at the brand new Sydney Football Stadium (SFS) in July 2023, after the match schedule was revealed by FIFA today.
Sydney will host more matches than any other host city, with seven games at the SFS and four at Stadium Australia, including a Semi Final and the Final.
Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said the fixture announcement is an exciting milestone on the road to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
“This is about putting the best sports and the best events in the best facilities and keeping Sydney the number one choice in Australia for sports fans. Hosting major events like this is crucial in creating jobs and boosting our visitor economy,” Mr Ayres said.
“This World Cup will take women’s sport to a whole new level. When the final kicks off in Sydney I have no doubt we would have hosted a tournament that changed women’s major events forever.”
Minister for Sport Natalie Ward said football lovers will get the chance to be part of the biggest and best moments of the tournament in Sydney, from start to finish.
“The atmosphere across the city is bound to be electric as we host matches from day one right through to the Final,” Mrs Ward said.
“Fans can soak up the atmosphere at the brand new SFS, enjoy a world-class FIFA Fan Fest and experience finals excitement at Stadium Australia.”
FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura said 32 teams will compete in 64 matches across Australia and New Zealand.
“The announcement of the match schedule today adds to the excitement around the tournament and we are looking forward to seeing the nine host cities and 10 stadiums that will set the stage for women’s football,” Ms Samoura said.

Matildas to Kick-Off 2023 World Cup Campaign at Allianz Stadium

The seating design of the new Sydney Football Stadium has been revealed.
Award-winning Indigenous artist Tony Albert was commissioned to create a design which covers all 42,500 seats of the new stadium. The theme of the design is “Two Worlds Colliding – Water and Land”, with ­abstract designs featuring topographical views of ­Sydney, and whale and ­goanna totems.&nbsp;
“I believe in the ability that art has to elevate our experience of daily life, and to create environments that uplift and connect us. It is my wish that in time, the Sydney Football Stadium will become a landmark destination within Sydney’s Cultural Precinct,” Albert said.
“I was really thinking about this idea of a football stadium and the concept Two Worlds Colliding is the idea of friendly competition, two different elements or people coming together."

Award-winning Artist Lands SFS Seating Bowl Design

The concourse at the new Sydney Football Stadium is 'completed'. 
 
Work at the new Sydney Football Stadium continues to progress with Minister for Sport Geoff Lee this week announcing completion of the concourse. 
 
The concourse provides 360-degree circulation around the entire stadium, has the four main entry and exit points for patrons and hosts most of the food and beverage outlets.

Drone footage from the site also shows the assembly of the first steel elements. This includes installation of derricks for the stadium roof. The first of these roof support structures has already been placed in the north-east corner.
